A total of 75 innovations (invented by altogether 257 innovators) were nominated for the 2020 Millennium Technology Prize. The number of nominations was similar as in the previous round. The majority of the nominations were in the fields of life sciences, including health and food, as well as in information and communications technology and smart systems.
Doctor of Technology Leni von Bonsdorff has been appointed as a member of the Board of the Technology Academy Finland (TAF). von Bonsdorff follows in footsteps of Jarl-Thuren Eriksson as a representative of The Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in Finland (STV). von Bonsdorff is the Chair of the Board of STV.

Technology Academy Finland’s Chair of the Board, Prof Marja Makarow has been appointed to the European Innovation Council Advisory Board. The Board will provide strategic leadership to the European Innovation Council (EIC). It will oversee the roll out of the current pilot and lead the strategy and design of the EIC under Horizon Europe.
