Technology Academy Finland (TAF) awards the international Millennium Technology Prize, provides a cooperation forum for business, academia and decision makers, and encourages the next generation to engage in technology and science. The Millennium Technology Prize is Finland’s tribute to breakthrough innovations that create new markets and improve the quality of life. The prize highlights the social and global impact of science and innovation.
With our current CEO retiring, Technology Academy Finland is now seeking to hire a new CEO. As the CEO you will be responsible for the administration, strategic development and financial management of TAF in accordance with the foundation’s strategy and values. You will have an active role in enhancing the global awareness of the Millennium Technology Prize, and in managing intersectoral relations in the interface between business and science.
We expect you to have a wide perspective of the technology sector. You are familiar with national and international innovation systems. You are well-informed and familiar with the evolving innovation field and with the new trends in technology. You seek new opportunities and implement them with confidence. You have good social skills and solid existing networks both in the public and private sectors. You also have the ability to inspire people and have excellent negotiation skills.
We expect you to have prior experience of and achievements in organizational leadership and strategic development; innovative ideas and vision; the ability to master complex entities; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and management skills. You are goal-oriented, entrepreneurial and have the ability to take action. We require you to be fluent in both oral and written Finnish and English. As the CEO, you will prepare the meetings and support the decision-making process of the TAF Board. You will implement the Board’s decisions and serve as the secretary at the Board meetings. You must also have solid expertise in financial management.
