The Millennium Technology Prize highlights the extensive impact of science and innovation on the well-being of society. Inspired by this, Aalto University and Technology Academy Finland TAF (the home of the Millennium Technology Prize) are organizing for the second time The Millennium Youth Prize competition, a competition for innovators who are under 19 years old.

Paula Risikko, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, has given the innovation award for women to Professor Heli Jantunen for inventing a low-temperature method for producing ceramic components. Professor Jantunen works at the University of Oulu.
The work companies do for innovations have a tremendous global significance. Companies are needed to create concrete innovations from ideas and research results. Ari Ahonen, CEO of the Technology Academy Finland (TAF), encourages companies to nominate their radical innovations for the 2020 Millennium Technology Prize.
