22 solutions to current global challenges were presented for the Millennium Youth Prize, a new technology competition for 14 to 18-year-olds run by Aalto University and Technology Academy Finland.
The Millennium Youth Prize is being run in the same spirit as its older forebear, the international one-million-euro Millennium Technology Prize that is awarded by Technology Academy Finland.
The categories of the Millennium Youth Prize 2018 – health technologies and new sustainable development energy solutions – are the same as the prize categories for previous years of the Millennium Technology Prize. Also, both awards encourage the development of new solutions for improving quality of life.
Award ceremony on Saturday 24 November
The participants of the Millennium Youth Prize received challenges to be solved from Aalto professors Heikki J. Nieminen, Anton Kuzyk, Mari Lundström and Peter Lund. The best solutions will be revealed in an award ceremony on Saturday 24 November in Espoo, Finland.
A total of 10 000 euros of prize money will be awarded.
