Millennium Youth Prize

Millennium Youth Prize is a technology competition for young innovators who are 19-year old and younger run by Aalto University and Technology Academy Finland.

The Millennium Youth Prize is being run in the same spirit as its older forebear, the international one-million-euro Millennium Technology Prize that is awarded by Technology Academy Finland.

The categories of the Millennium Youth Prize are often the same as the prize categories for previous years of the Millennium Technology Prize  (health technologies and new sustainable development energy solutions). However, the categories may vary yearly. Both awards encourage the development of new solutions for improving quality of life.

We want to encourage young people to learn and innovate and to participate in technology and science. In addition, we believe that they have the key for a better future for mankind. There are many different solutions to the global challenges. Innovations are born from new perspectives and from a new way of thinking.

The next challenges for young innovators will be published on on 15 August 2019. In late autumn 2019, we will organize a workshop for young people supervised by the professors who gave the challenges. Participants must submit their proposals by mid-April 2020. More detailed instructions will be published in the beginning of 2020.
