Technology Academy Finland (TAF) invites the scientific and innovation community around the world to nominate candidates for the 2018 Millennium Technology Prize. The nomination period opens today and nominations will be accepted until July 31, 2017. The one million euro Prize is one of the largest innovation prizes in the world. It is awarded for groundbreaking technological innovations that help solve the great challenges of humankind in a sustainable manner. The winner will be announced on May 22, 2018.

Arnold has been awarded the National Academy of Sciences’ Sackler Prize in Convergence Research. Directed evolution has been adopted by hundreds of laboratories around the world and has broad applications in sustainable biofuels, pharmaceuticals, and other environmentally friendly solutions to global problems.

Technology Academy Finland (TAF) has today declared American innovator Frances Arnold as winner of the 2016 Millennium Technology Prize, the prominent award for technological innovations that enhance the quality of people’s lives.
The Finnish one million euro prize for an innovation promoting better life and sustainable development will be awarded in Helsinki on 24 May.
